Photo Tips

Petr Liška Wrote 02.02.2013:

Photographers advise to take photos early in the morning or in the evening for the best light. But in Ladakh it is not always true; or rather the sunsets are far more beautiful. There are usually a few clouds in the sky that make shadows on the surrounding mountain ridges. In the morning is the sky mostly completely swept and less interesting. In Leh is probably the best place for sunset Shanti stupa.

Population

Petr Liška Wrote 02.02.2013:

Most of the population has Tibetan roots. You will also meet a number of bearded Kashmiris, who are skilled traders.

Religion

Petr Liška Wrote 02.02.2013:

Major Religions: Unlike the rest of India, Hinduism is virtually unseen. The majority of the population is of Buddhist faith. Other religions: there is also a significant Muslim minority, especially in western Ladakh. In Leh you can tell only by mosques.
