Franz Josef Glacier, together with the Fox Glacier, is one of the most famous glaciers in New Zealand. It lies on the west coast of the South Island in the Westland National Park. Its forehead is a well-accessible by hiking trail. In addition, there is a glacier trail, so touristically more interesting than the neighboring Fox glacier
