The deepest lake in Central America
Lake Atitlan (1 558 m asl) is a real gem not only in Guatemala but throughout Central America. Caldera of gigantic ancient volcano is now filled up with a huge 340 meters deep lake. Moreover, from its shore tower new volcanic cones covered with high mountain jungle, which make it very charming atmosphere. The surroundings is also very fertile, so you will find here also picturesque Indian villages.
