Mountains
The Cordylér ridge runs through Peru from north to south. Basically the whole center and west of the country is very mountainous. – Cordillera Blanca is the northernmost glaciated mountain range in the country – Cordillera Huallanca: lies southeast of the CB. There are very few tourists visited. The highest peak is Wallanka / often also El Burro / (5,470 m above sea level) – Cordillera Huayhuash: it is a relatively small mountain range with a number of high peaks and beautiful lagoons. – Cordillera Huaguruncho: beautiful landscape full of lakes around the mountain of the same name (5 723m). – Nevado Pariacaca (5,730 m above sea level) is located in central Peru – Cordillera Huaytapallana: a beautiful mountain range just a short distance from Huancaya – Cordillera Vilcabamba: a mountain range in which the famous Machu Picchu – Cordillera Vilcanota is located
Volcanos
