National parks and protected areas

Dominika Šmejkalová Wrote 10.09.2017:

Looking at the map of Northern Ireland, there are not many national parks, mainly because the country is not densely populated outside the capitals and agglomerations, and the whole landscape is otherwise dotted with pastures and meadows. So they do not have such a need to establish national parks that protect nature from people's invasions. These are mostly kept in cities. Nevertheless, there are a few areas called National Park. I can recommend, for example, the Morne mountains south along the coast from Belfast about an hour's drive.
