Beautiful nature, this is the biggest attraction of New Zealand. Here you will find practically everything from a desolate volcanic landscape with colorful lakes, geysers to beautiful waterfalls in the misty jungle. Amazing fjords and lakes, caves …

Lakes and Ponds

Petr Liška Wrote 11.10.2015:

There are really a lot of beautiful lakes in New Zealand as a remnant of massive ice activity or volcanic activity. North Island: Lake Taupo (the largest lake in New Zealand is basically the flooded caldera of an old volcano). Emerald Lakes in Tongario National Park and Champagne Pool in Rotorua National Park as a result of volcanic activity. South Island: Lake Wakatipu (the longest lake in the country. At the same time, Queenstown, a city of adrenaline) stands on its shores. Lakes Tekapo and Pukaki are among the most beautiful, mainly because the monumental Southern Alps rise above them. Lake Wanaka at Mount Aspiring National Park.

Rock formations

Petr Liška Wrote 11.10.2015:

There are a number of curious rock formations in New Zealand, from beautifully rounded boulders to rock towers, photogenic cliffs and volcanic basalt columns. Perhaps the most famous rock formations are Moeraki boulders – perfect rock balls lying directly on the beach. Cathedral Cove – beautiful cliffs on the Coromandel Peninsula or Tunnel beach with a huge arch. Wharariki Beach with its Arch Island is also famous. The quaint rock town of Pancake rocks. Most basalt columns can be found on the island of Chatham.

Volcanoes and their manifestations is one of the essences of the whole of New Zealand, especially the North Island. Here you will find massive volcanic cones, multicolored lakes and boiling holes with volcanic mud.
