Traveling in Iran is simple. Thanks to cheap fuels and high-quality highways there are very cheap and fast bus lines. Frequent here is also a rental car with a driver.

Landscape types

Petr Liška Wrote 26.07.2014:
  • ** Elborz: ** The highest mountains in the country cover essentially the entire northern part. The arid southern slopes fall all the way to the Tehran, the green north to the Caspian Sea. The largest number of foreign tourists are heading here, mainly due to the Dámavand volcano. The possibilities for hiking are really extensive here. – ** Kavír and Lút deserts: ** occupy the whole center of the country, which is practically uninhabitable. The highest temperatures on the earth's surface were measured here. At its southern end are beautiful desert cities full of monuments – such as Bam, Yazd. – ** Baluchistan and Khorasan **: are mountainous arid areas on the border with Afghanistan. Greater crime and drug trafficking discourage tourists from visiting these areas. – ** Gulf Coast: ** The whole south of the country is washed by the waters of the Persian Gulf. For tourists, however, there are relatively few attractions – ** Zagros Mountains: ** The long ridge of the Zagros Mountains with several mountains higher than four thousand meters on the sea offers relatively isolated tours. On its outskirts lie other important cities such as Esfahan and Shiraz. – ** West of the country: ** is also very mountainous. The south is Kurdish and the north is more Azerbaijani. A popular destination here is the volcano Sabalan.

Classic Itineraries

A typical trip to Iran is mainly around its sights. From Tehran we continue through Qom, Kashan, Abyaneh, Esfahan to Yazd and then down to Shiraz and Perspepole. Then back to Tehran by air or bottom route through Kurdistan. Quite often, tourism in Elborz is added to this.
