As every Himalayan country has India uncountable trekking options. In the east in Sikkim you can see not only tea plants, but also the third highest mountain in the world Kanchenjunga (8586 m asl) enthroned on the border with Nepal. In the Garhwals Himalaya there is the sacred mountain of Nanda Devi (7816 m asl) – the highest Indian inland mountain, and also one of the most beautiful mountains in the world – Shivling (6543 m asl). Most tourists visit arid Ladakh situated around the life-giving river Indus. Former trade routes now serve as trekking paths leading through the high mountain passes connecting individual wild valleys. Especially famous are the crossings between Ladakh and Zanskar, both in summer and in winter. In the northern part of Ladakh there is poorly accessible and virtually undiscovered area – eastern Karakoram dominated with mountain peak Sasser Kangri (7672 m asl). On the border between Ladakh and Kashmir there are picturesque outlooks to mountains Nun (7135 m asl) and Kun (7077 m asl). In the southern part of the Himalayas – in the green Kashmiri are famous treks around beautiful mountain lakes.

Support on the trek

Petr Liška Wrote 28.01.2013:

As in other himalayan countries, there is no problem to arrange a professional guide on the trek. You can decide the number of carriers based on your financial options and physical condition. Most tourists trek only with a small backpack and everything else carry carriers. But the carriers can for example just bear only food and the rest of the baggage carries the tourist. You can arrange everything at affordable prices directly on the site.
