India with its more than seven thousand kilometers of coastline offers plenty of opportunities to swim. The vast majority of the coast is not at all designed for backpacking or is dirty. Major Indian seaside resorts are in Goa. Other beaches are found in Kerala, Karnataka and the Andaman Islands.
