The Landmannalaugar is the second largest geothermal area in Iceland. The main access road is the F225 road, but only for off-road vehicles. The surrounding obsidian and rhyolite peaks are colored with many orange, green and gray belts. There are several hiking trails and a well-known four-day trek to Thorsmörk.
