The outlook of Sázava
Ruins Zbořený Kostelec attracts with its romantic location overlooking the river Sázava with a nice beech forest around. In addition, there are nice flat places right on top as prepared for the summer fires burning or sleeping under the stars.
Čížovské Bučiny
The shortest way to the ruins is it directly from the river Sázava, where is the signpost of hiking trails and a small parking area – main red „Posázavská magistrála“ connects here Nespeky with Kamenný přívoz. However, we turn to green trail leading in the direction to Čakovice, which can be an alternative start this trip. The path rises through a nice beech forest with scattered small rocks up to the headland on which thrones almost 700 years old ruins. The whole forest is located on a hillside of Čížov, according to which comes the name of this protected reserve.
Ruin of the drawbridge
Considering the fact that the castle was demolished more than 550 years ago, there are still quite enough remnants – there is even a former drawbridge behind a large moat. The bridge would be worth a renovation.
The main part of the ruins
At the remnants of the main building there are campfires rings and flat places – perfect place for a romantic summer night.
