Royal town to the south of Kathmandu
Earlier independent royal town Patan is nowadays only the southern suburbs of Katmandu. In its heart, however, is beautiful Durbar Square, where you can admire traditional historic cathedrals and palaces. It is only about seven kilometers far away from Thamel.
Krishna Temple
You will probably start the tour at an oval building of Krishna temple.
Temple Harischankar
Right next is the bell Taleju and Temple Harischankar next to it. And naturally, a lot of souvenirs sellers.
Sacred bell Taleju
The main street with the greatest monuments starts at the building with sacred bell Taleju.
Surroundings of the statue of Yogendr Ma
The nicest part of Patans Durbar Square and at the same time the greatest density of temples is in the vicinity of interesting statue of Yogendr Malla.
Krishna Mandir
Right next door is also interesting white Krishna Mandir.
Royal palace
The biggest dominant of the entire square is the large royal palace.
Fountain Manga Hiti
Very interesting is also the fountain Manga Hiti at the northern end of Durbar Square.
