We also have ferrata with beautiful views in the Czech Republic
Ferratas have become very popular lately and people go to them all over Europe. They have an advantage abroad – high mountains, rock massifs and clear lakes, which give ferrata abroad a completely different touch. Have you already tried the vortex ferrata? You will also get such a view there.
Via Ferrata Vír
Circuit through 2 diverse ferrata
I would like to take you to the place where I was born – the village of ** Vír na Vysočině **. And why? There are two secured paths in Vír, which are not very demanding – the difficulty is ** BB / C **. The local nature offers ** beautiful views of the Svratka river valley and the dam of the Víra dam ** (VD Vír I.). This place is therefore ideal for families with children who can handle ferrata from the age of 4 (with physical readiness) with experienced parents accompanied without great difficulty. At present, both Vortex ferrata are complete and functional. It is good to use the ** marked tourist circuit ** and walk through both ferratas with a visit and a stop at the dam. It is good to keep ** about 1.5 hours ** for this circuit (stops on the ferrata with a photo shoot, a walk along the dam, etc.). Descent and other hiking trails are also marked. Movement on secured paths in Vír is ** at your own risk ** and only with the appropriate equipment – at least a ferrata set and a helmet (equipment ** can be borrowed ** in the rental shop ** directly under the rock – the set costs CZK 200). ** Ferrata on the Ice Wall ** To enter the first ferrata in Vír, you will be led by stone stairs winding down the slope from ** cottage Krabička ** to the east wall ** Great Towers **. The safety rope runs all the way to the left and rises first along the eastern, then the northern wall to the top of the Great Tower, which it bypasses, and leads visitors to a five-meter-long rope bridge. We continue with another steep lift to the lookout point, where the safety rope is interrupted. It continues after about five meters to the ** ridge Blueberry **, where it ends at the junction of the rocky ridge to the slope of the ferrata. The ferrata is followed by a hiking trail leading to the VD Vír I dam and further to the entrance to the ferrata on the ** Lake Wall **. The descent path leads along the slope from the south side of the Blueberry ridge to the east wall of the Great Tower and back to Krabička, while the upper part of the descent path is not completed, and therefore care must be taken. ** Via Ferrata on the Lake Wall ** The second Vírská ferrata starts in a bend under the VD Vír I dam. The boarding ladder in the north-western wall cannot be overlooked and the safety rope leads again through the entire ferrata on the left hand side. On the way up, there are ** beautiful views ** of the VD Vír I dam behind the back, which directly encourage you to stop. About halfway through, the ferrata breaks into the southwest wall and continues to the top, from where the view of the dam is really exclusive. From the end of the safety rope, the path continues along the slope at the forest border. From here, you can descend back on the road between the parking lot and the entrance to the ferrata, or continue uphill to the viewpoint of ** Klubačica ** and further to Vír.
Autumn days on the ferrata
