They been there:

At the end of the summer of 2017, we went to Transcarpathian Ukraine for a fortnight, specifically the area around the highest Ukrainian mountain Hoverly 2061m. We also visited part of Svidovecká poljana and its highest mountain Bliznice 1881m. Transcarpathia is the most beautiful part of the whole of Ukraine with very warm and kind inhabitants.

After a 32-hour journey by various buses.

We are setting up a tent right behind the last cottage in the village of Luhy and we really have enough.

Bath in the river.

On the way to Hoverl, welcome refreshment, the water is about 18 ° C but the air is around 30 ° C in the morning. We also had to go through the gate of the national park and pay a fee of 30 hryvnia per person (less than 30 CZK)

Sidlovina, saddle below Hoverla.

Cottage of local „rangers“, for the construction of the tent is paid 20 Hryvnia. And the park rangers are improving their payouts by selling bottled beer and schnapps. They both speak quite decent Czech and provide us with, in addition to beer, quite a lot of valuable information.

Hoverla 2061m.

We were so looking forward to the top of Hoverly, but clouds are rolling over it and it's a nice scythe. We are here, unlike in 2013, when the weather didn't let us in here at all.

Hoverla

… on the west side, the clouds sometimes burst, so at times you can see something.

Under Peter.

There are plenty of places to camp everywhere.

Romance

Beautiful, isn't it?

Evening under Peter.

We think that if it's like this tomorrow, we probably won't even climb there.

Ascent to Petros.

As the saying goes, a wiser evening in the morning. It's beautiful, the sky is „modrojas“ … and it's going up.

And we're up on the mountain, ..... and Hanka has it for the holiday.

Splendor.

The weather has improved significantly. In the background you can see the peaks of Petros and Hoverly.

Food.

Some may be interested in what we eat on longer expeditions. Here is a dried dish of our own production, in the dried state about 200 g, after preparation, pouring boiling water and 15–20 minutes of swelling, we add a little more lard and … good taste!

Campground.

Romance in every inch, only in places where camps are often, there is a bit of a pig, but such is Ukraine.

The seventh day.

After seven days, a short visit to „civilization“ and the purchase of missing raw materials. By the way, and I don't have to do it twice, they have absolutely excellent vodka here and 0.5L will cost you about 75 CZK.

Bathroom.

„A few“ days have passed since the last bathing, and the daytime temperatures in the last days are somewhere around thirty … so don't be surprised.

Away from "civilization"

This time we go to the hills in an unmarked way.

Cottages.

And yet sometimes you come across a dwelling far away from everything and everyone.

Road traps.

This can happen to you anywhere, even on a marked path somewhere in our country, but here far in the deep woods, on a kind of sheep trail it will come a little more adventurous.

Cooking.

You can make a fire everywhere, so we prefer to cook on the fire. We carry a gas stove with us, in case of cooking in a tent, for example in bad weather.

Polonina Svidovec.

And we're up in the midlands again. If you find the courage to leave the marked paths, days and days you will not meet anyone at all.

Bliznica, the highest mountain of Svidovecké poloniny.

On the way from the big Bliznice (1881 m) to the small Bliznice (1872 m) Joy and beautiful views spoil a little about carrying about 6L of water per person.

And the end is near.

Slowly, the end of our „slut“ is approaching. We don't really want to go down, but what do we do?

And the end is near.

End.

On the penultimate day we arrive in the city of Rakhiv. For the last night we take the hotel and the „luxury apartment“ for less than 350 CZK night / 2 people. We also went through the pubs, drank and ate what we came up with. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL, IT WAS SUPER ...... IT WAS SHORT.

End.
