What can be experienced in the Serengeti
The Serengeti is one of the most famous national parks in Africa, located in northern Tanzania. The park is mainly known for its animal migration. The park has many paths and it is easy to get lost in it if you choose to visit without a guide. There are pointers and you may have a printed map with you, but it is good to have a downloaded offline map with you. Don't forget to refuel enough. There is a pump in the park, but you will drive such kilometers, when it is definitely better to have a tank full than to look for a pump out of stress than to enjoy watching animals and enjoying the surroundings. As in any of the national parks in Tanzania, you have access to 24 hours, while the park can close at 8 pm, and you have to leave the park, but in the morning you can enter the park again. Because the park is huge, you don't meet animals all the time, but you may not come across any for an hour or so, of course, it also depends on what time you enter the park.
Animals in the park
If you visit the Serengeti during the migration period, you can meet huge herds of wildebeests, which are spread up to several tens of kilometers and number several thousand wildebeests.
Lions on the road
You can also come across a pack of lions that have set out on a „trip“ along the road you are driving on and you are just staring in disbelief as the lions go around your car as if nothing goes by and go on happily.
Lions in prey
If you're lucky, you can also come across lions that are eating their prey, and you just hear the bones crack, their sacrifice they're eating
At each „feast“ there are also animals waiting to be left. Like hyenas or marabou
Hyena waiting for „leftovers“
If you are very lucky, you can also meet a lioness with lion cubs
In the river you can observe large hippos herds, which can have several dozen individuals.
Lion crossing the road
All animals have priority in the park, so if you come across elephants blocking your path or a lion lounging on the bridge you want to cross, you just have to wait for them to leave and it may take a while
You can meet whole elephant herds with baby elephants or even lone elephants
Lots of other animals can be seen in the Serengeti
Giraffes, zebras, buffaloes, antelopes, all this and much more you will find in the Serengeti
