Trek through Chuiskii ridges 12: We can diversify the descent through the valley of Karaoyuk (Караоюк) by a trip to lakes Karakul and Akkul (оз. Каракуль и Аккуль). This trip is not very long or difficult and is definitely worth it. Alternatively, we can walk from the Sophia glacier (Софийский ледник) directly to these lakes through the valley of river Akkol (Акколь).

In a while we arrive to beautiful blooming meadows. The lakes are only a short walk away. The meadows may be waterlogged, but apart from wet socks there shouldn´t be any other danger.
