Hike in surroundings of Jomsom

We set off along the way of Annapurnas trek to the village of Marpha /in the high season it is full of beautiful views of the surrounding glacier giants/ famous for its apple liqueur. The apple trees are here literally covered with apples. The best view of Marpha is from the monastery Solmi Gomba.

The trip to Marpha leads along a comfortable wide path along Kali Gandaki. 

Village Thini is located to the east above Jomsom.

We are trying to ascent up to the gompa Dhumpha, which has an ideal location on a nice outlook hill. But we are welcomed by a locked gate. Although the wall could be easily overcome, we respect the privacy of locals.

The village of Marpha looks from the opposite hill as several small houses huddled under rock walls. As is usual here, it is an oasis of greenery in the middle of rough rugged terrain.

We descend back to Jomsom and overcome river Kali Gandaki along the rope bridge. Wind blows here very much.     

On the outskirts of Jomsom there is house with a sign. We do not understand a single word… it is perhaps a workshop where motorcycles are repaired.

We observe locals repairing the bus with hammer.
