The west coast of Zakynthos offers few opportunities for swimming, while the dramatic scenery of huge white cliffs and rocks. From the main road you can take several detours to the sea and see this natural beauty.

The town of Keri

We start our tour of the west coast in the southernmost town of the island of Zakynthos in Keri (13km from Laganas). Outside this main street, there are narrow streets that you can barely pass

Landscape around Keri

Keri lies on a plateau topped by cliffs. The surroundings of the city are quite green, wooded. There is only a small square in the town itself and a large church nearby.

There are basically only two reasons to go to Keri – either to watch the sunset or to go to the view of the beautiful rocks of Mizithres

Caves and cliffs

After a tour of Keri, we will move 8 kilometers north to the town of Agalas, from where we will head to the Damianos Cave and then to the other beautiful cliffs of Plakaki.

Drive to Plakaki

From Agalas, a narrow road descends through a semi-deserted landscape to the sea. The first view from a height of 150 meters above sea level is worth it

Plakaki Rocks

The biggest attraction in this place are the rocks of Plakaki. From the parking lot you can walk along the footpath to the sea, where you can see the frequent karst caves excavated by the sea.

Kiliomenos

From Plakaki we return to the main road and continue north to the historic village of Kiliomenos. The village lies at the crossroads, so the roads stop here. The locals therefore offer souvenirs and homemade products such as cheese, wine and olive oil

Porto Limnionas

From Kiliomenos it is only six kilometers to the town of Agios Leon. From here, five kilometers of traditional narrow roads lead directly to the sea. At the end there is an unexpectedly large parking lot, but also an unexpectedly lot of people. Porto Limnionas is a bathing place, but you will definitely not find any beach here.
