Volcanoes in Tongariro National Park: In the national park you will find the highest volcanoes in all of New Zealand. These include: Ruapehu (2,797 m above sea level), Ngauruhoe (2,287 m above sea level), Tongariro (1,967 m above sea level), Hauhungatahi (1,527 m above sea level) and Pihanga (1,325 m above sea level)
Lakes and Ponds

The largest lake in the area is Rotoaira. But that's a little off. Volcanic lakes right in the park: the most famous are the Emerald Lakes and then the beautiful Upper and Lower Lake Tama. Another interesting lake is the so-called Blue Lake. or crater lake on Ruapehu volcano.
