Border crossings
Petr Liška Wrote 02.02.2013:
You can easily get to the area from Chile (two international crossings), but also from Argentina. Hito Cajon: a trip from Chilean San Pedro de Atacama passes through him directly below Licancabur. Ollagüe: just a short distance from this famous volcano is another border crossing (3,707 m above sea level) between Chile / road 21 from Calama / and Bolivia – Estacion Avaroa. But salar tour trips do not go here. Villazon: this is the way to Bolivia from Salta, Argentina.
