The Aegean islands (Lipari Islands) are located north of Sicily in the Tyrrhenian Sea. There are situated on the connection between Etna and Vesuvius. They are actually the tops of submarine volcanoes rising above the see. It is a total of seven islands – Lipari (the largest), Salina, Vulcano (famous name), Stromboli (famous active volcano), Filicudi, Alicudi and Panarea
