Mountains

Petr Liška Wrote 02.02.2013:

On the southwestern Bolivian Altiplan you will find dozens of volcanoes, mostly about 5,500 meters above sea level. However, the outputs are usually held for only a few of them. The highest of them is Uturuncu (6,008 m above sea level), which is also interesting in that it is one of the lightest 6,000 in the world. Licancabur is also popular due to its nice cone and views of the surrounding lagoons and lower volcanoes, the snooping Ollagüe with a sulfur mine just below the summit, or Tunupa towering directly above the famous salar de Uyuni.

The most famous natural wonder on the Altiplan is the gigantic Salar de Uyuni. Then there are amazing lagoons and this whole volcanic landscape in general.

Lakes and Ponds

Petr Liška Wrote 02.02.2013:

The colorful Lagoon lagoons surrounded by volcanoes create some of the most beautiful scenery you can see in Bolivia. The most famous of these is probably the red lagoon of Colorado. The Verde Lagoon is also beautiful, reflecting the silhouette of the beautiful Licancabur Volcano. Thousands of pink flamingos live in the lagoons.

Deserts

Petr Liška Wrote 02.02.2013:

Most of the local landscape is very inhospitable, full of white salaries and plateaus with only sparse vegetation. The most famous and largest in the world is the Salar de Uyuni, which also has amazing „islands“ full of huge cacti. A very interesting part is the landscape of Salvator Dálí playing in shades of red.

Rock formations

Petr Liška Wrote 02.02.2013:

The most famous formation directly on the Altiplán is the Arbol de Piedra, where there is a stop at every salar tour. Apart from it, there are also other rock formations shaped by the wind in the Siloli desert.

Volcanic activity

Petr Liška Wrote 02.02.2013:

Although this area has been at the peak of its activities long ago, you will still find a lot of remains here. In addition to dozens of volcanic cones, there are also sulfur mines, but also the area of fumaroles Sol de Maňán, where you can look directly into the devil's cauldron at an altitude of almost five thousand meters above sea level.

There is the typical Altiplano fauna and vegetation: cute viscacha, shy llamas and beautiful flamingos (those most at Laguna Colorada).
