Hiking circuits & Trekking

Due to the large distances between the individual attractions, there are no classic multi-day treks in the area. Altiplan Volcanoes: Ascents to the Altiplalan Volcanoes as part of an individual salar tour are also popular. It most often climbs to Licancabur or Tunupa, but you can basically go to any peak that comes to mind.

Difficulty of hiking trails

Volcanoes are usually more difficult than their altitude than technical problems. Of course, even here you have to overcome the rubble slopes, which can be snowy outside the main season. Sometimes there are weathered rocks on the tops, which are not so easy to climb.

Maps and orientation in the landscape

Petr Liška Wrote 02.02.2013:

You can almost always go to the Altiplano Volcanoes with a local guide. A jeep driver will often accompany you to lesser-known volcanoes. An official guide will accompany you to Licancabur. So there are no problems with orientation
