Czech Paradise is an ideal place for hiking. Here are some of the most beautiful hiking trails in the Czech Republic. There is also held annually the second most famous tourist mass march in the Czech Republic „Putování za Rumcajsem“.

Hiking circuits & Trekking

Petr Liška Wrote 02.02.2013:

Most tourists come to the Bohemian Paradise for about half a day trips around its individual rock towns and their surroundings. However, it is not a problem to make very nice marches of several days, the so-called trek through the Bohemian Paradise. – ** Less visited tourist routes: ** include ** Klokočské skály ** (sandstone plateau lying high above the surrounding terrain with the rock castle Rotštejn). The crossing of the entire Kozák ridge is also one of the less well-walked – ** Large tourist circuits: ** the most famous all-day march is ** The Golden Trail of the Bohemian Paradise ** from Jičín to Turnov. This most classic route leads through all the most famous places such as ** Prachovské skály, Trosky, Podtrosecké údolí, ** ** Hruboskalsko ** (30km). An alternative and longer hike leads from Jičín to Turnov over the entire Kozákovský ridge with nice views of both the Bohemian Paradise and the Giant Mountains (36 km). Another nice march is the southwest of the Bohemian Paradise from Mnichovo Hradiště to Sobotka via ** Příhrazské skály **, ** Kost ** and ** Plakánka valley ** (25km). The northern circuit starts in Turnov and leads to the romantic ** Maloskalsko ** through Klokočské rocks and rock towns on Sokol. At ** Frýdštejn ** the road then returns to Turnov (27km) – ** Great trek through Bohemian Paradise: ** ultimate circuit on the route Jičín-Prachovské skály-Sobotka-Údolí Plakánku-Kost-Příhrazské skály-Podtrosecké údolí-Hruboskalsko- Turnov-Frýdštejn-Malá Skála-Klokočské rocks-Kozákov-Tábor-Jičín, ie. about 115 kilometers and about 3 kilometers high up and down (basically connects all of the above tourist circuits into one)

Classic Treks

Petr Liška Wrote 02.02.2013:

Classical circuits begin in the following main centers of the Bohemian Paradise: – ** Prachovské skaly **: one of the most famous rock towns in the Czech Republic with the famous Imperial Corridor and views of Paradise and Peace) – ** Podtroseckého údolí **: perhaps the most picturesque part of the Bohemian Paradise with sandstone towers jutting straight out of the ponds. The most beautiful part of the valley is by the Vidlák pond. The ruins of Trosky Castle are right next door. – ** Hruboskalsko **: one of the most beautiful rock towns in the Bohemian Paradise with Valdštejn Castle and Hrubá skála Castle and beautiful views of the region. – ** Maloskalsko **: the northern island of the Bohemian Paradise picturesquely situated on both banks of the Jizera with the nearby Suchá skály, Pantheon and Frýdštejn Castle – ** Plakánků Valley **: very picturesque valley leading to the beautiful Kost Castle – ** Příhrazské skaly **: with the famous Drábské světničky and Valečov Castle

Difficulty of hiking trails

Petr Liška Wrote 02.02.2013:

Most of the marches through the Bohemian Paradise are relatively undemanding with a small elevation gain, although there are a number of exceptions (eg ascent to Sokol from Jizera, etc.).

Support on the trek

Petr Liška Wrote 02.02.2013:

Most tours of Bohemian Paradise are relatively short. Moreover, in an area where civilization is always within reach, few people carry a heavy backpack and support is not needed in the mountains.

Maps and orientation in the landscape

Petr Liška Wrote 02.02.2013:

The whole Bohemian Paradise is very well marked with tourist signs. There are also many updated maps from various publishers (Czech Tourists Club, Shoecart or Kompass). It's just not a problem here with good orientation.
