The most beautiful lake in Russia
The deepest (maximum depth 1642m) and oldest lake in the world, in which is 20 000 km3 of water. It is about 700 km long and 20–100 km wide. It is the largest reservoir of fresh water in the world and in addition, around several hundred species of plants and animals that cannot be found anywhere else live here. The lake itself lies in 456 meters above sea level and is surrounded by mountains that reach over 2,000 meters above sea level. In some areas it is relatively full of tourists, but if you move a little farther, the areas can be even untouched by tourism.
